Dried Barberries (Zereshk, Barberry)

Dried Barberries are a small red fruit similar in look to dried cranberries. An important ingredient in Persian and Iranian dishes, barberries add a lovely tart, tangy flavour to dishes.

Simply soak the dried barberry in cold water for around 10 mins before gently warming in a pan, with a touch of oil, until they swell. Use the plump tart barberry as required. Great when added to rice dishes.
