Wild rice is the roasted seed grain of a wetland grass. It has a mild, nutty flavour and is excellent when mixed with other rice grains like basmati rice.
Rinse well and add water [allow 1 cup rice to 2 cup water] Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and cover. Simmer until tender [around 45mins], remove from heat and leave to stand for 5mins with the lid on. Fluff with fork and serve.
