Dried Nasi Goreng [Vegetable Mix for Indonesian Fried Rice]
A dried vegetable mix popular in the preparation of the Indonesian favourite 'Nasi Goreng.'
Nasi Goreng is a traditional Indonesian fried rice dish and although a meal in itself, can accompany many others.
To prepare Nasi Goreng: empty contents into a bowl and cover with hot water. Allow to soak for 5 mins and drain, in a large wok stirfry 200g of finely chopped meat and/or prawns together with the nasi goreng mix in veg oil until cooked. Add 4 cups of preboiled rice, mix thoroughly [adding more oil if necessary] and stirfry until heated throughout. This will produce a characteristically mild and spicy dish. For extra heat add sambal oelek.
Ingredients: leek, onion, salt, dark molasses, tomato, paprika, water, garlic, coriander, turmeric, cumin, chillies, spices.
