Compounded Asafoetida Hing is a spice used in Indian food like dals. Use Hing sparingly. Asafoetida hing should be gently sautéed in oil or ghee. Combined with mustard seeds, the mix is fried and added over lentil and other dishes to add flavour [called tarka]. Once cooked it adds a garlic/onion like flavour that works well in many indian dishes.
Ingredient: rice flour, gum arabic, asafoetida, turmeric, wheat flour.
